We suggest that members comply with the following guidelines:

  • Negative Coggins within 12 months is required for all trail rides and riding clinics.

  • Observe park rules.

  • Be considerate and friendly to other riders and hikers.

  • A responsible adult must accompany minors. (Club rides are not recommended for children under 10 years of age.)

  • Riders are to control their horses at all times.

  • Maintain a safe distance from other horses to prevent accidents or someone getting kicked.

  • Stay on the trail.

  • Do not ride on private property without the owner’s personal authorization.

  • Texas Equine Liability Law will be posted and signed by each attendee acknowledging this law holding CTETA and its members harmless and accepts that each person is responsible for their own actions.

  • Place a green ribbon on the tail of a "green" horse and a red ribbon if the horse has been known to kick.

  • To minimize the herd response, tell the riders around you if you plan to pass, leave the group, or move off at a faster gait.

  • Rides will be at a moderate pace. Riders wishing to ride at a faster pace may do so and rejoin the slower group down the trail.

  • Do not block parking or turn-around access.
